About us

MetaChurchVR's goal for existence is to reach those who don't know God, or do and want to know him more intimately, with the convenience and excitement that comes exclusively through virtual reality. You also may find that our church looks a bit different from a traditional church, and that is because VR allows users to express themselves in ways more personal to them. This is possible with the power of the Avatar system built into VRChat. Users can look like any character or person they want, without worrying about the real-life judgment which comes through public appearance. We feel it also new users to open up more about their past and beliefs, as well as any questions they may have about Christianity. We desire to take full advantage of this opportunity!

Our Church follows the beliefs found in The Apostles Creed:

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; Born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate; Was crucified, dead and buried; He descended into Hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; And sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit; The Christian Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. Amen.

We also understand that VRChat itself isn't always a godly place.

MetaChurchVR is approaching the heart of our Ministry from 1 Corinthians 9:19-23, where Paul writes concerning the lost:

"For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings."

- 1 Corinthians 9:19-23 (ESV)

IMPORTANT: Please keep in mind this does not mean we endorse ungodly avatars, and if you do see an avatar that makes you uncomfortable, VRChat allows you to hide an individual's avatar or block them entirely.
