Our Beliefs

MetaChurchVR endeavors to deliver biblically sound messages, grounded in the Word of God. As such, we try our best to stay true to the principles established throughout the Old and New Testaments.

As believers in Messiah, born again into the renewing of our minds, we affirm the following core beliefs:

We affirm our confidence in the Bible as the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We acknowledge the existence of the Holy Spirit and His daily involvement in our lives, as well as the necessity for us to listen to His voice and obey.

We believe the offer of salvation is God’s gift of love to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart from works, become new creatures in Christ.

We believe that Satan, under the sovereign permission of God, tries to destroy the faith of believers and that drawing near to God is the only way to resist him.

We believe that Jesus is now seated at the right hand of the Father, preparing a place for us to live with Him, and we anticipate our Lord’s promised return in power and glory. We are convinced that all who have died will be brought back from beyond—believers to everlasting communion with God and unbelievers to ever-lasting separation from God.

We acknowledge the Creator, God, as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and intimately acquainted with all our ways.

We believe Jesus Messiah is the Son of God and is One with God the Father and the Holy Spirit.

We believe that, having trusted in Christ by faith, we are a new creation in Him—clothed in His righteousness and fully loved and accepted by God.

We believe that as a new creation in Christ we will continue to wrestle with our sinful nature. We will, however, continue to grow in grace and become more like Jesus. Ultimate perfection and freedom from sin, however, we understand will only come when we finally stand in the presence of the Lord.

We claim Jesus Christ as the Lord of our lives and our Savior.

We believe that Jesus Christ was born into the world in the flesh as a human being, lived among us healing the sick and teaching the masses his ways, died on the cross in our place as the atoning sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins, rose again after three days and three nights in the grave, appeared to people on earth again, and ascended into Heaven.

We believe that God expects our lives to reflect that we belong to Him and that we are pursuing a holy life.

We believe that, having embraced Jesus Christ by faith, we are to make Him known to unbelievers in our spheres of influence.

We are all still learning and growing, so we acknowledge that we may make mistakes too. Please bear with us in our mistakes as God is still working in us to make us more like Him.
